Adapting the Taxon-Task-Taxon Methodology to Model the Impacts of Chemical Protective Gear

چکیده
The Taxon-Task-Taxon method (Anno et al., 1996) is a statistical modeling approach to predict performance decrements in response to various stressors. Our research is extending this approach to accommodate new more acute stressors associated with chemical protective gear, and new tasks with greater involvement of cognitive, perceptual, and motor function. In this paper, we describe the basics of the T3 method and our approach to adapting it, and give a illustrative example that shows how the method can be used to account for performance decrements associated with wearing protective gloves. This illustration provides a substantive way in which the current T3 method can be augmented to account for performance decrements in a new subdomain, but also provides lessons for extending the method to new stressors and performance domains.

Adapting the task-taxon-task methodology to model the impact of chemical protective gear
The Task-Taxon-Task method (Anno et al. DNA-TR-95-115, 1996) is a statistical modeling approach to predict performance decrements on behavioral tasks in response to various stressors. We describe the basics of the T3 method and our approach to adapting it to handle more acute stressors, which can require decomposition into task networks via logical or empirical analysis. We provide an illustrat...
متن کاملTwo Model Compounds to Investigate the Gear Effect: 2,3-Dialkyl-Bicyclo[2.2.1]-Heptane and 2,3-Dialkyl-Bicyclo[2.2.2]-Octane
Compounds I, II and III, were used as models resembling gear systems (bods connecting CR3 groups to the skeletal molecule are parallel) in surveying the potential energy surface for their internal rotation. The magnitude of the barriers calculated for averaging the NMR signals, placed these compounds in the range of measurement accessible by dynamic NMR spectroscopy (which is cur...
متن کاملPenicillium albocoremium, a new taxon from tulip bulbs in Iran
In recent years, tulip flowers have been grown extensively in parks and green spaces of Urmia city (NW Iran). During the surveys in a period from 2014–16, characteristic symptoms of the blue mold rot were observed on both planted and stored tulip bulbs, as the bulbs were covered with a white to bluish-green mycelia and spores. In order to determine the fungi associated with tulip bulbs (Tulipa ...
متن کاملBiostratigraphic Correlation of Elikah Formation in Zal Section (Northwestern Iran) with Ruteh and Type Sections in Alborz Mountains Based on Conodonts
Conodonts are the most important fossil remains from the largest Phanerozoic extinction as well as the mass extinction of the late Paleozoic and could be used for exact dating during this period. Triassic deposits located in the Elikah Formation contain exposures in most of the Alborz sections as well as the Zal section in northwestern Iran. In this study, the Elikah Formation was investigated ...
متن کاملMORPHOLOGY OF PENICILLATE CELLS IN THE GENUS PHYLLACTINIA (ERYSIPHACEAE) BASED ON IRANIAN SPECIMENS
The genus Phyllactinia is one of the members of Erysiphaceae (Erysiphales, Ascomycota) which parasitize several host plant families. This taxon is well characterized by having acicular appendages with bulbous swelling at the base and penicillate cells which are outgrowth of some ascoma wall cells. A number of challenges exist to distinguish species assigned to this taxon. This is because of a f...
